ℹ️ Plain-English summary: pay on time, behave at the tables, and don't enter the Novice Series if you play county. The detail is below.
1. Entries & eligibility
Entry is open to teams of three (Novice Series) or four (Pro-Am Series) players aged 18 or over at the date of the event. Junior Series eligibility is published separately.
Your entry is confirmed only when full payment is received and your team appears on the accepted teams list. Places are allocated in order of paid entry. A waitlist operates once a series is full.
2. Payment & refunds
Entry fees are £90 per team (Novice) and £120 per team (Pro-Am). Fees cover tournament entry only. Accommodation is booked separately with the Norbreck Castle Hotel.
Withdrawals more than 60 days before the event receive a full refund less a £10 administration fee. Within 60 days, refunds are issued only if your place is filled from the waitlist.
If the event is cancelled by the organisers, all entry fees are refunded in full within 14 days.
3. Player conduct
We are proudly loud and social, but abuse of referees, opponents or hotel staff is not tolerated. The tournament director may issue frame penalties, match forfeits or removal from the event without refund.
Decisions of the tournament director on any dispute are final. Disputes must be raised at the tournament desk before the next round begins.
4. Novice eligibility
The Novice Series is reserved for pub and social standard players. A player is ineligible if, within the last three seasons, they have played county pool, super league, or professional/semi-professional events.
Teams fielding an ineligible player forfeit all matches played by that player and may be removed from the event. If in doubt, ask the desk before you enter. We'd rather move you to the Pro-Am than send you home.
5. Wristbands
All players and spectators require a wristband for arena access. Player wristbands are included in the entry fee; spectator wristbands are available at the desk. Lost wristbands are replaced once, on production of photo ID.
6. Photography & media
The event is photographed, filmed and streamed, including via livepoolscores.com. By entering, players consent to the use of event imagery for coverage and promotion. If you need to be excluded from imagery, tell the desk at check-in.
7. Liability
The organisers accept no liability for loss or damage to personal property, including cues and cases, or for costs arising from travel and accommodation, except where liability cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
8. Changes to the event
The organisers may alter the schedule, format or venue where reasonably necessary. Material changes are notified to captains by email and published on this site.
Questions about these terms. Contact the tournament desk via the Help page.
